We
are pleased to announce that we are installing a new Cashless System
for the Cafeteria in the school. Our desire is to continue to provide and improve on the quality of the school meal service, so as from the start of the new school year in September 2008 no cash can be accepted at the food counter ‘till points’.
HOW WILL THIS WORK ?
There are 2 revaluation units installed in the school which will enable students to credit their accounts with cash. Firstly
the student will place their finger on a reader which displays a
photograph of the student, their name and current cash balance. They
may then top up their account by inserting coins or notes. Students will have a limit set on the amount they can spend daily.
There is also the facility for parents to credit their child's account online using the ParentPay secure website - see the links at the bottom of this article for more information.
The
system works exactly the same for all students. If your child is on
free school meals an amount will be allocated on a daily basis to the
value of a free school meal, but they can still top this amount up if they wish.
The digital signature of your child’s finger is turned into a mathematical
biometric algorithm. The mathematical biometric algorithm cannot be
used to recreate an image of your child’s finger.
