Performing Arts Curriculum

KS4

Choosing to study for a Btec Level 2 First Performing Arts will allow you to look into different areas of performing arts, allowing you to explore your creatively in different ways.

The course will allow you to get a vocational (work related) qualification which you will obtain a pass, merit, distinction grade.

Studebts are given assessment and grading criteria at the start of each unit. This allows them to clearly see what they must do in order to achieve the assessment criteria for each unit. Teacher feedback is also given to support student learning to allow them to make progress towards their target level.

Home Learning

Home learning will be set once a week in line with the college homelearning timetable. Homelearning will either be performance based or coursework based.

Extra-curricular provision

The drama department works alongside the musical department to perform a college production once a year. This is always well attended and allows pupils to put their skills to use.
