Year 8 Mosque Trip

Year 8 Mosque Trip
Year 8 students went to Ashton Central Mosque to develop their knowledge and understanding of the Islamic faith. Students were given a tour of the Mosque and explored key features of the place of worship, especially the magnificent Atrium. They were invited to listen to live prayers and they received a seminar by a practicing Muslim who shared his faith and culture with our Year 8 students. Furthermore, the students attended a Q&A session to gain an insight into the Islamic faith and they examined a range of attire.

The students had a thoroughly enjoyable trip and Ciara  in Year 8 stated,  ‘The trip helped me to develop my  knowledge on the Islamic faith. Also, my favourite part of the experience was trying on the Islamic clothes and exploring the Mosque’.

In addition, the trip was extremely worthwhile and beneficial because it promotes the importance of community values, which is a key part of our Mission Statement at St Thomas More RC College.
