Public Speaking Competition

On Tuesday 24th January, the Year 11 public speaking team competed in the regional final of the ESU public speaking competition at Urmston Grammar School.

Niamh McCarty delivered a fantastic speech on the topic, 'Science is a way of thinking more than it is a body of knowledge'. She wowed the judges with her articulate and well-structured argument and was awarded with a special individual award for the best personality.

The whole public speaking team did incredibly well and were fantastic ambassadors for the College. Olivia Walker, the team’s questioner, said ‘It was an experience that I will never forget.’ All the pupils worked extremely hard and should be very proud of themselves.

Well done to Niamh McCarty, Lauren Eaton, Olivia Walker, Niamh McCoy, Callum Taylor, Olivia Wilson and Georgia Nolan.
