Staff and Students Celebrate European Languages Day with a Bake Off

Staff and Students Celebrate European Languages Day with a Bake Off!

Staff and pupils competed in the ‘Great St Thomas More Bake Off’ to celebrate the European Day of Languages.  All competitors took time out of their busy schedules to create their show-stoppers with a common goal: to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support and to ensure that no one faces cancer alone.  Throngs of students flocked to buy delicious cakes and biscuits, which had been lovingly designed by staff and students. All the delicacies had a European theme and there were some very adventurous creations.

There were intricate cupcakes inspired by the Eiffel Tower, European flags, food and drink and even the Eurovision Song Contest.  Clearly, staff and students had invested hours into their creations which were cleverly moulded out of sugar paste or decorated with sumptuous butter cream.  The event made a staggering £222.00 and all the proceeds were donated to Macmillan Cancer Support.
