On
Thursday 13th July 2017 St Thomas More RC College held their Rewards
Evening. Over 100 pupils together with their parents and carers came together
to celebrate pupil’s individual success for academic achievement and attitude
to learning across all years and all subject areas.
Miss
Burns, Headteacher said ‘We are all so proud of our pupils and it is through
our special partnership with our families that we ensure all our pupils are
supported to achieve their potential’.
The Headteacher’s Award went to Ethan Hibbert a Year 9 pupil who has also been recognised by Tameside as an Inspirational Young Person. Throughout his treatment for a tumour, which has left him partially blind, Ethan has always had a smile for everyone and is an inspiration to all.
The school has recently had a very successful Ofsted inspection. The one day inspection report comments that ‘The mission statement of recognising the worth and dignity of all people is seen through leaders’ actions with vulnerable pupils, through pupils’ attitudes of respect and tolerance to others, and through the care and consideration shown between pupils and staff alike.’
