Tameside Music Service Brings the Blues to St Thomas More RC College
Talented teachers from Tameside Music Service visited St Thomas More RC College to bring a taste of the West End to Denton. They performed a range of electrifying numbers from the iconic musical The Blues Brothers to our enthusiastic Year 7, 8 and 9 students. Each assembly showcased the importance of learning a musical instrument and how music can transform a child’s life.
The group of teachers, which was led by Mr Jolly, gave interesting demonstrations and an overview of each instrument. Students listened attentively to the sound demonstrations from the brass, woodwind and string families, as well as the electric guitar and drums. Students and teachers thoroughly enjoyed the vibrant performances and this has resulted in a surge of students collecting letters for instrumental lessons!
